I don't disagree about how screwed up it is that public funding goes to private research. Greed *is* bad though. ALL healthcare should be publicly funded. Not basic healthcare (whatever that means), not "access to healthcare," if you get sick or injured or whatever, it's taken care of. Vision, dental, all of it.

To put it another way, there should be no profit involved in providing for people's health.

There's never any question about the size of the check when it's paying for war or corporate bailouts.

Where we went wrong is giving anyone, whether it's elected officials or corporations, our power. We are the government. They shouldn't be dictating to us how things will be, it should be the other way around.
